Policies

We are continually updating our company policies in order to best create a healthy, positive environment for both our artists and our audiences.

Sexual Harassment Policy

All members of our production board are required to complete an annual sexual harassment training from New York State. Our sexual harassment policy refers to everyone (artists and audiences) who is in our space auditioning, rehearsing, performing, or watching a production. CNY Playhouse does NOT tolerate sexual harassment. Anyone who is aware of sexual harassment occurring at CNY Playhouse may report to our designated board members who will conduct a prompt, confidential investigation. Read our full policy here.

Anti-Racism Policy

In June 2020, CNYP formed an Antiracism Task Force comprised of BIPOC theatre artists from our community. These artists are working to create policies and recommendations CNYP. Action steps include: including land acknowledgements before performances; requiring antiracism training for all board members; increasing representation of BIPOC artists on our Governing and Production boards; implementing equitable season planning to ensure positive representation of BIPOC artists and stories; ending dangerous and damaging language in rehearsal, backstage, and in regards to designing for BIPOC performers; cultivating diverse audiences, and more.

Covid-19 Policy

CNY Playhouse will adhere with NYS Guidelines regarding Covid-19 for the safety of our staff, actors and audience members. At this time, all performers and crew members will be required to show proof of vaccination by the first rehearsal of any show they are involved with.
