Character Descriptions:

#11: Brainy, morbid, and a bit of a budding elitist. She has always been “mature for her age” and likes to feel special. Extremely thoughtful, the daughter of two therapists.

#25: Captain. Classic (ex)coach’s daughter. Probably a better leader than a player. She goes on a journey for self-discovery after growing closer to a girl from her class.

#13: Stoner, with an older pot-dealing brother. She’s weird but likes it – although it sometimes makes the other girls uncomfortable.

#46: New girl, awkward, different. Desperate to fit in. Extremely talented at soccer.

#2: Innocent, but extremely unlucky and prone to injuries while on the field. She’s very sweet but doesn’t often know how to actually help. Implied to have an eating disorder.

#7: “Too cool for school”. Sarcastic, and prone to swearing. Pushes against society’s expectations. She’s abrasive, but she’s more than a caricature of a mean girl.

#14: Insecure sidekick of #7. She is trying hard to forge her own path and become her own person, but she doesn’t know where to start. Puts on a good show for #7, but most of it is an act.

#8: Childlike, innocent, determined to stay that way. Plays dumb so people will like her. She’s a bit ignorant of social issues due to being sheltered. She is afraid of being left behind by her friends who seem to be growing up faster than her.

#00: Goalie with intense performance anxiety. Perfectionist, high achiever. She’s quiet, but that doesn’t mean that she doesn’t have opinions – she is listening to everyone.

Soccer Mom: The mother of #14, who experiences great tragedy. She delivers a massive monologue at the end of the play. A mother in the deepest stages of grief.
