Character Descriptions:

EMMA (Female, 28-50): Robert’s wife, an intelligent and professional woman who owns an art gallery. Naïve, youthful, and innocent at the beginning of the affair, she becomes a haunted and bitter woman who tries to justify and rationalize herself by the end.
ROBERT (Male, 28-50): Emma’s husband. A charismatic publisher who is capable of manipulation. Aware that his wife has been having an affair with his best friend for years, he eventually uses this knowledge against them. He is intellectual and a realist.
JERRY (Male, 28-50): A successful writer, he is inherently romantic and naïve. Far more insecure and less confident than his best friend Robert. His love of being in love leads him to having an affair with Emma for years. Jerry’s innocence and naivete prevent him from seeing that he is in the midst of a cruel game of manipulation.
WAITER (Male, 28+): The waiter at a family-owned Italian restaurant. He is the father of another waiter, good-humored, and not very bright.
